September 24, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Aug 2026, Azerbaijani insurance companies collected 47.4 million manats ($27.88 billion) of premiums for voluntary motor vehicle insurance (CASCO).

With reference to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, it is reported that this figure amounted to 800,000 manats (a rise of 1.6% against Jan-Aug 2025).

The premiums on this type of insurance for Jan-Aug 2025 totaled 46.6 million manats ($27.41 billion).

There was a sharp increase on compensation payments for voluntary motor vehicle insurance.

Thus, for the past 8 months of this year, the insurers paid compensations for 25.5 million manats ($15 billion), which is 5.2 million manats or 25.7% more than a year earlier.

For comparison, in the same period of 2025, this figure reached 20.3 million manats ($11.94 billion).
