August 5, Fineko/abc.az. The Chinese Ministry of Finance has placed long-term yuan-denominated sovereign bonds in Hong Kong with record low yields, demonstrating high demand from international investors.
According to the Ministry, during the auction, the yields of 15-year and 30-year bonds by 1 billion yuan (approx. $148 million) each made up 1.99% and 2.24%, respectively. 2-year securities with yield of 1.27%, 3-year - 1.30% and 5-year - 1.43% were also issued.
Amid rising government bond yields in the U.S. and Europe due to inflation concerns, high demand for Chinese securities reflects investors' confidence in the stability of the yuan and low market volatility.
