July 27, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan's State Oil Company (SOCAR) produced 1.7 million tons of oil and 1.8 bcm of natural gas from fields it operates independently, or as the principal shareholder, during the 2nd quarter of 2026.
According to SOCAR, the country's total natural gas production increased by 1% versus Q2 of 2025, reaching 12.8 bcm.
SOCAR said its drilling activity rose by 32.3% year-on-year in the 2nd quarter, totaling 24,000 m.
As a whole, Azerbaijan produced more than 6.6 million tons of crude oil for Q2.
SOCAR exported more than 3.3 million tons of oil to foreign markets. The figure includes oil produced by the company as well as Azerbaijan's and SOCAR's profit shares from production by international consortia operating in the country.
Natural gas exports totaled 6.3 bcm, while domestic consumption stood at approx. 2.5 bcm. Gas exports grew by 0.5% year-on-year, while domestic consumption rose by 4.9%.
During the 2nd quarter, SOCAR processed more than 1.4 million tons of oil and 679 million cu m of natural gas. Company's facilities in Azerbaijan also exported 556,400 tons of oil, petrochemical, and gas-chemical products to international markets.
