May 7, Fineko/abc.az. As of May 1, 2026, the number of active taxpayers in Azerbaijan reached 877,368 people (a rise of 7.4% versus Jan-Apr 2025), ABC.AZ reports, referring to the State Tax Service.

Thus, as of May 1, 2025, the number of active taxpayers totaled 816,700 people. Although the indicator grew in both periods compared with the beginning of the year, growth rate was higher in 2026 - 2.1% and in 2025 -1.2%.

The number of active VAT-payers also increased in annual terms. The number of active VAT-payers as of May 1, 2026 was 60,431. The figure is nearly 10.3% more versus 54,800 for Jan-Apr 2025.

At the same time, the number of active business entities (facilities) grew by 7.8% year-on-year and reached 240,528 (Jan-Apr 2025 - 223,100).
