August 18, Fineko/abc.az. According to Anadolu Agency, the Zangezur Corridor has the potential to transform the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic into a vital transport and economic hub connecting the Caucasus, Türkiye, Central Asia, and Europe.

Developed under the TRIPP framework, the project envisions direct overland rail transit linking mainland Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan via Armenia. The plan includes constructing approximately 42 km of railway in Armenia and upgrading 194 km of track in Nakhchivan, raising the line's transit capacity from 1.5 million to 15 million tons annually.

For Türkiye, the under-construction Kars-Igdir-Aralik-Dilucu line will directly link Nakhchivan to the Turkish rail grid, reinforcing the Middle Corridor. In the long term, the corridor is expected to integrate regional transport, energy, and digital infrastructure.
