Iran exempts Russia from duties for passage through Strait of Hormuz

April 24, Fineko/abc.az. Tehran intends to charge a fee for passage through the Strait of Hormuz, but has already provided exceptions for a number of "friendly countries", including Russia, ABC.AZ informs, quoting Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali.

The decision is explained by the cost of providing security after the attacks by the U.S. and Israel. The Strait remains closed until the lifting of the American naval blockade. At the same time, Iran has already received revenue from fees for the first time by sending funds to the central bank.

At the same time, a bill is being drafted, providing for transit payments in rials and a ban on passage for the U.S., Israel and countries supporting sanctions against Tehran. The document has not yet been accepted.
