April 17, Fineko/abc.az. The cargo transportation in the transport sector of Azerbaijan increased by 1.2% year-on-year, reaching 56.59 million for Jan-Mar 2026.

ABC.AZ informs that for the past 3 months, services in the transport and warehousing sector were rendered for 3.435 billion manats (1.7% more in real terms versus Jan-Mar 2025).

The cargo transportation by rail decreased by 6.3% to 4.7 million tons.

A more drastic drop was recorded in sea transportation - by 12.8%, to 1.927 million tons. The of carriages declined by 11.4% to 82,000 tons.

The cargo transported via pipelines fell by 4.2% to 16.75 million tons. In this sphere, carriages via oil pipelines lowered by 10.7% to 8.65 million tons), while pumping via gas pipelines grew by 3.3% up to 8.1 million tons.

The largest growth was recorded on the road transport segment, where the cargo transportation grew by 6% up to 34.435 million tons, which became the main driver of overall growth.
