EC President: Azerbaijan Has Potential to Stand as Regional Hub for Clean Energy

July 1, Fineko/abc.az. Large-scale renewable and green energy platforms engineered by Azerbaijan continue to structurally pivot the broader regional energy maps.

According to ABC.AZ, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen highlighted these steps during a joint press brief alongside President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Appraising Azerbaijan's renewable energy strategies, the EU Commission Chief pointed out that Baku possesses vast capacities within the Caspian Sea sector, enabling the country to operate efficiently as a primary regional hub for clean energy.

Reaffirming that the European Union remains Azerbaijan’s single largest investor and primary trading partner, von der Leyen pointed out the clear economic necessity to advance this relationship.

She further noted that both sides are actively continuing technical works on a comprehensive, detailed bilateral agreement designed to systematically expand and scale cross-border trade loops between the EU and Azerbaijan.
