July 3, Fineko/abc.az. US President Donald Trump stated on Thursday that Iran would purchase agricultural products from the United States as part of a potential peace agreement to end the conflict; however, Iran has denied this claim.
"They are not making money, so we are going to take some of the money and buy them /food/. They need food. They need corn, wheat, and soybeans, and we are going to ensure those supplies come exclusively from our American farmers," Trump said in an interview with CNBC.
However, Abdolnaser Hemmati, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, told Iran’s Tasnim News Agency that "there are no obligations to purchase agricultural products from the United States."
In the interview, Trump mentioned that negotiations with Iran are progressing, and in his view, Tehran has agreed to "practically everything we need."
