April 14, Fineko/abc.az. Global coffee exports in February decreased by 5.7% year-on-year and amounted to 11.46 million bags, ABC.AZ informs, referring to the International Coffee Organization.
The most noticeable drop was recorded in South America. Exports from Asia and Oceania also declined. At the same time, shipments from the Caribbean Islands, Mexico and Central American countries, as well as from Africa, on the contrary, increased.
Exports of green coffee beans also declined. The decline affected, in particular, robusta, as well as Brazilian and Colombian varieties, while supplies of other soft varieties increased.
Amid geopolitical instability, global coffee prices continue to rise: in March, the composite index increased by 2.3% and reached 273.7 cents.
