April 10, Fineko/abc.az. In 2025, average deposit interest rates gradually decreased from 8.7% in October 2024 to 6.5% in December 2025, ABC.AZ informs, referring to Baku Stock Exchange’s report for 2025.

This dynamics reflected a decrease in financing costs in the banking system amid monetary policy easing.

On the other hand, the interest rate on loans remained high at 18.69% in December 2025, indicating that the transfer of reduced financing costs to loan prices was limited and gradual.

"In the capital market, the weighted average borrowing rate for corporate and digital financial bond market placements in 2025 was 12.5%, which is higher than the average yield of 3-year government bonds at 7.6%. The higher borrowing rate mainly reflects the structure of issuers, since during the year a significant part of the placements in manats were carried out by non-bank credit institutions, which are characterized by a higher risk premium," the report emphasizes.
