April 2, Fineko/abc.az. This February, deposits in the banking sector retained their dominant position, making up 75.2% of overall liabilities and reaching 37.3 bn manats.

ABC.AZ informs that of this amount, 20.4 bn manats account for deposits from legal entities and 16.9 bn manats for deposits from individuals.

The national currency prevails in the savings of individuals - 11.6 bn manats. The deposits in foreign currency amounted to 5.2 bn manats. Term deposits totaled 10.7 bn manats. In February, term deposits increased by 210.3 million manats and demand deposits by 349.5 million manats.

At the same time, the number of unique term deposit depositors reached 202,100 people, an increase of 2.5% over the month and 4.1% since the beginning of the year. Demand deposits of legal entities reached 15.2 bn manats, retaining the main share in this segment.

In February 2026, the banking sector maintained moderate growth rates. As of February 28, 22 banks, 505 branches, 85 sub-branches and 3,507 ATMs were operating in the country, and the number of employees in the sector reached 27,300 people.
