July 7, Fineko/abc.az. The population census will be conducted in Azerbaijan in 2029.

The relevant decree was signed by President Ilham Aliyev.

The census will be organized for the first time after the full restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and state sovereignty in order to obtain detailed information about the population throughout the country and assess the socio-demographic situation.

Under the decree, the next census of the country's population as of October 1, 2029, will be held from October 1 to 31 of the same year.

The preparation and conduct of the census, the processing of the final data, as well as the publication and dissemination of the results, have been entrusted to the State Statistics Committee.

The Cabinet of Ministers is required to approve the census activities plan within two months. The government is also instructed to take measures to integrate the necessary information contained in the information resources and systems of the relevant government agencies into the SSC database. This information will be used to obtain data from administrative sources.

As a reminder, the last census in Azerbaijan was conducted in 2019.
