July 9, Fineko/abc.az. According to Central Bank of Azerbaijan’s statistical bulletin, as of the end of May 2026, 2,300 transactions for more than 250,000 manats were made on UnionPay cards issued by local resident financial institutions.

Compared with Jan-May 2025, the quantityt of transactions on those cards decreased 11.5-fold (more than 2,100), and their volume fell 8.3-fold (more than 220,000 manats).

The report also notes that 2,500 transactions for 400,000 manats were conducted on UnionPay cards issued by foreign financial institutions (non-residents) within the country.
