February 23, Fineko/abc.az. A “leap” in the production of wind turbine electricity has begun in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to the State Statistics Committee, that in January 2026, wind farms generated 56,100 kWh of electricity (almost 22-fold more than the annual production).

The production of solar power plants increased by 15.6% year-on-year and tptaled 18,500 kWh.

Electricity generating by hydroelectric power plants fell to 40,500 kWh (133.4% less than a year ago).

1.978 million kWh (as previously, around 88%) of country’s overall generation of electricity (2.257 million kWh) for 2025 accounted for thermal power plants.  TPP production volumes decreased by 2.5% per year.
