January 26, Fineko/abc.az. The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Syria increased 90-fold in 2025.

ABC.AZ reports that if in 2024 two countries’ trade turnover was approx. $1 million, then in the first 11 months of 2025 this figure grew up to around $92 million.

Of the overall trade turnover, $90.7 million accounted for exports from Azerbaijan to Syria, and $1.3 million is exported from Syria to Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan's main export to Syria for the reported period was natural gas – 254 million cu m for $87 million. The price of 1,000 cu m of gas was $342.

Hazelnuts are in 2nd place in terms of exports, with 294 tons of hazelnuts for $3.043 million exported to Syria for the reported period. Azerbaijani hazelnuts were supplied at the price of 17.6 manats per kg.

 Azerbaijan mainly imported potatoes from Syria – 1,266 tons for $797,000. The average price of imported potatoes was 1.07 manats per kg.
