September 1, Fineko/abc.az – As of the end of July 2025, the number of transactions using American Express cards issued by resident financial institutions in Azerbaijan (as well as statistical unit payment cards) totaled 6,400, with a transaction volume of 0.9 million manats.

According to ABC.AZ, citing Central Bank data, compared to the previous month, the number of transactions with American Express cards decreased by 900 units, or 12.3%, while the transaction volume fell by 0.2 million manats, or 18.1%.

Additionally, during the reporting period, American Express cards issued by non-resident financial institutions recorded 1,500 transactions totaling 1 million manats. Compared to the previous month, the number of transactions decreased by 200 units, or 11.8%, and the transaction volume dropped by 0.4 million manats, or 28.6%.
