More than 87% of non-cash payments in Azerbaijan accounted for e-commerce

August 4, Fineko/abc.az. The volume of non-cash payments in Azerbaijan in June of this year increased by 38.3% against June 2024 and amounted to 8.438 billion manats, including 7.375 billion manats (87.4%) accounted for e-commerce.

ABC.AZ informs that this is stated in the report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

Payments for 1.058 million manats were made through POS-terminals, and 5 million manats through self-service terminals.

Since the beginning of the year, the amount of non-cash internal transactions with payment cards has made up 67.1% card transactions.

As of July 1, the number of payment cards in Azerbaijan reached 20.642 million cards (0.9% more than in the previous month, 3.7% more than at the beginning of the year and 14.1% more versus the 2024 same term).
The number of debit cards in the country has increased by 17.1% over the past months of the year up to 18.524 million, while the number of credit cards decreased by 6.9% to 2.118 million. The turnover volume on these cards in June reached 12.144 billion manats (+ 32.6%) and 800 million manats (+ 19.6%), respectively.
Over Jan-Jun, the number of ATMs in the country grew by 8.9%, and the number of POS-terminals by 43%, reaching 3,440 ATMs (1,848 ATMs in Baku) and 139,758 POS-terminals (85,630 terminals in Baku).
