July 16, Fineko/abc.az. The World Bank has revealed the largest economies in the world. The regulator estimated the volume of the economy in terms of PPP. Top 3 includes China ($38.2 trillion), the U.S. ($29.2 trillion) and India ($16.2 trillion). According to the regulator, by the end of 2024, Russia retained its position as the fourth largest economy in the world, doubling its leadership among its closest competitors.
ABC.AZ reports that according to Bank's estimates, the Russian economy has reached $6.92 trillion (5.8% more than in the previous year - $6.45 trillion).
Japan is in 5th place, with its GDP rising to $6.4 trillion over the year. The gap between Japan and Russia has doubled and reached $514 billion. Top 10 also consists of Germany ($6 trillion), Brazil ($4.7 trillion), Indonesia ($4.7 trillion), France ($4.2 trillion). and the UK ($4.2 trillion).
According to the WB, the Russian economy still ranked 4th in the world in terms of purchasing power parity in 2021. In October 2024, the International Monetary Fund also named Russia the 4th largest economy in the world in terms of purchasing power parity.
