Reduction of USAID under Trump threatens 14 million deaths — The Lancet

11:03 - 1.07.2025

July 1, Fineko/abc.az. After U.S. President Donald Trump curtailed work and stopped financing the USAID, experts from The Lancet conducted a study and found that the actions of the head of the White House to "dismantle" the U.S. Agency for International Development could lead to nearly 14 million more deaths by 2030, ABC.AZ reports, referring to Bloomberg.

If financing cuts continue, it is projected that 1.8 million people in the poorest countries could die in 2025 alone. And by 2030, the figure will grow up to 14 million people, including 4.5 million children under the age of five.
