U.S. ETFs raised record $437 bn since early 2025

May 26, Fineko/abc.az. Since the beginning of the year, American investors have invested a record of $437 billion in exchange-traded funds, ABC.AZ informs, referring to WSJ.

Inflows continue to grow despite market turbulence, trade conflicts and high volatility. Against this background, ETFs can end the year with a new record for funds raised.

The main beneficiaries were Vanguard and BlackRock. Vanguard's VOO fund has already doubled last year's inflows record. Active ETFs are also gaining popularity, especially among retirees, thanks to a strategy of containing volatility and paying higher-than-average dividends. They accounted for 30% of all inflows, although they account for less than 10% of assets.

The WSJ expects inflows to accelerate: dozens of managers have applied to the SEC to launch ETF classes for existing mutual funds. This will expand the supply and allow investors to gain tax advantages when accessing familiar strategies.
