September 24, Fineko/abc.az. Telegram founder Pavel Durov said that the IP addresses and phone numbers of users who violate the rules of the messenger can be transferred to the authorities if there are reasonable legal requests.

ABC.AZ reports that this is part of the updates to the platform's "Terms of Service" and "Privacy Policy" that have been brought into line worldwide.

Durov stressed that the changes are aimed at preventing the use of Telegram for criminal activities. Data transfer is possible only in cases where it is necessary to deter criminals and subject to legally justified requirements. Such measures will help keep users from violations and protect the reputation of the platform.

It is noted that these updates emphasize Telegram's intention to comply with global privacy standards, while ensuring cooperation with the authorities in exceptional cases.
