September 1, Fineko/abc.az. By the end of the second quarter of 2026, six banks operating in Azerbaijan recorded interest expenses exceeding 50 million AZN.

The figures were revealed in a financial ranking compiled based on the banks' quarterly financial statements.

According to the ranking, the International Bank of Azerbaijan (ABB) posted the highest interest expenses, totaling 219.7 million AZN. Kapital Bank secured the second position with 164.7 million AZN in interest expenses, followed by PASHA Bank with 110 million AZN.

Bank Respublika ranked fourth, reporting interest expenses of 63.4 million AZN. Unibank stood in fifth place with 61.1 million AZN, while AccessBank rounded out the top six with 56.4 million AZN in interest expenses.
