March 6, Fineko/abc.az. At the beginning of 2024, women made up 50.2% of the total population of Azerbaijan, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee.

Out of 112,600 children born last year, 46.9% were girls.

Azerbaijani women actively participate in the socio-economic life of the country, their share in the total number of employed people, according to preliminary data, is 47.9%.

Among civil servants, the proportion of women is 29.4%, and among individual entrepreneurs - 22.7%.
