December 12, Fineko/abc.az. In Azerbaijan, the profit of hotels in the tourist center of Shusha, liberated from occupation, has sharply increased.

ABC.AZ reports that for the first 9 months of 2023, Shusha hotels surpassed the income of another tourist center — Sheki.

Over Jan-Sept 2023, about 12,000 people visited hotels in Shusha. Of them, 9,800 people were Azerbaijani citizens, and 2,200 - foreigners.

For entire 2022, Shusha hotels served more than 14,000 guests, of whom 1,800 were foreigners.

The income of hotels in Shusha has also increased dramatically. So, if in 2022 hotels in the area liberated from occupation earned 2 million manats, then in 9 months of 2023 this figure reached 3 million manats, and by the end of the year it is expected to exceed 4 million manats.

According to this indicator, Shusha was ahead of one of the tourist centers of Sheki – hotels in the "city of laughter" earned only 2.7 million manats in 9 months.
