February 21, Fineko/abc.az. "Joint training of personnel by two countries’ universities is being considered in order to solve the problem of the shortage of teachers in the Azerbaijani language and literature in Azerbaijani-language schools operating in Georgia," ABC.AZ reports, citing Education Minister Emin Amrullayev.

According to the minister, this matter was raised at meetings held during his visit to Georgia:

“During my stay in Georgia, this issue was raised at a meeting with representatives of Azerbaijani-speaking schools in Georgia, and today we discussed this question with my colleague, the Minister of Education of Georgia. We discussed the possibility of several solutions. This is possible both through cooperation between Azerbaijani universities and universities in Georgia, and by stimulating the training of personnel with the participation of various higher educational institutions of Azerbaijan, including through the implementation of dual degree programs in the future. I believe within the framework of working meetings after this meeting we’ll be able to inform the public about more concrete solutions.”

The minister added that the possibilities of creating a joint university as one of the long-term ways to solve the problem were discussed.
