August 3, Fineko/abc.az. The Board of the Ministry of Energy has approved the "Methodology for Calculating Energy Consumption in Buildings," pursuant to a new decree signed by Minister Parviz Shahbazov.

Under the new regulations, calculations for a building's annual energy consumption and its energy efficiency class will incorporate heating, cooling, hot water supply, lighting, and ventilation systems (both natural and mechanical). Other energy-consuming systems installed in the building will be included in total energy consumption calculations but will not affect the determination of the energy efficiency class.

The methodology also establishes rules for calculating greenhouse gas emissions for non-renewable energy sources. If construction deviations affect a building's energy performance, adjustments will be made to the calculations during commissioning based on actual technical specifications.
