August 4, Fineko/abc.az. Due to expansion of the retail network, Apple's annual revenue in India increased by double-digit percentage from about $9 billion a year earlier and surpassed $10 billion.

iPhone smartphones accounted for the bulk of sales.

Over the past 3 years, company's earnings in India, which has become a key market after the U.S. and China, have grown by 67%. In February, Apple opened a new store in Mumbai, increasing the number of official outlets up to 6. To increase market share, the company uses installment programs, discounts for students and trade-in, as the base iPhone 17 model costs $870 in India (compared to $799 in the U.S.) due to high taxes.

India also plays a key role in Apple's production chain - every fourth iPhone in the world is now assembled at 5 factories in this country, which has become the main supplier of devices to the US market.
