August 3, Fineko/abc.az. Google, just a day after its launch, cut a new AI-powered feature in Google service Earth due to the mass creation of fabricated satellite images.

Nano Banana 2 feature allowed users to generate arbitrary images on top of real maps using text prompts. Despite the fact that the tool was designed to encourage geographical creativity, experts quickly pointed out the risks of its use for creating and spreading misinformation.

The company stated that it had recorded cases of generated images being posted in violation of its internal rules. Google temporarily disabled this feature in order to develop more reliable security and moderation mechanisms.
