August 3, Fineko/abc.az. Gold rose in price on Monday after US President Donald Trump's decision to postpone strikes on Iran in favor of negotiations caused oil prices to fall.

The decline in energy prices eased investors' concerns about high inflation and further interest rate hikes.  The spot price of gold rose by 0.4% to $4,055.76 per ounce, while U.S. futures increased by 0.9% up to $4,054. The weakening of the U.S. dollar provided additional support to the metal.

Other precious metals saw silver rise up to $58.13 (+0.9%), platinum up to $1,649.35 (+0.5%), and palladium up to $1,294.92 (+1.7%).
