July 31, Fineko/abc.az. According to the CBA, monetary policy instruments are applied taking into account the processes in the financial markets and the liquidity indicators of the banking system, and short-term rates in the unsecured money market are formed within the discount rate.
According to the regulator, the average daily rate of AZIR in May and June was 6.43%, and in July it was 6.39%.
Key points:
• Liquidity surplus: Without taking into account the mandatory reserves, the structural liquidity surplus of the banking sector reached 6 bn manats by the end of the 1st half-year, increasing 2.1-fold against December 2025. This indicates the high credit potential of banks.
• Open market operations: The main tool for managing liquidity remains 7-day deposit operations, which makes up 84.3% of sterilization portfolio at the end of June.
• Yields and rates: Over the past 3 months, there has been decrease in the yield of CBA notes for all maturities. At that, there has been decline on interest rates on new fixed-term manat deposits and investments.
