July 31, Fineko/abc.az. The Board of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan has decided to keep the discount rate unchanged at 6.5%.

According to the regulator, the lower threshold of the interest rate corridor has been maintained at 5.5% and the upper threshold at 7.5%.

The decision was based on the dynamics of actual and projected inflation, as well as the processes in the domestic financial market. The CBA noted that increase in the inflation forecast requires tightening of monetary policy, but predominance of supply over demand in the foreign exchange market has restraining effect, which has led to the balance of indicators.

The next decision on the parameters of the interest corridor will be announced on September 23.
