July 24, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of the Russian Federation has decided to lower the key rate by 25 basis points to 14% per annum.
The regulator noted that in the 2nd quarter, the economy continued to grow moderately due to consumer demand, but consumer activity is expected to slow down in the 2nd half of the year.
In this regard, GDP growth forecast for 2026 has been reduced to 0-1%, and inflation is expected to be in the range of 6-7% by the end of the year.
There is also gradual easing of labor market tightness, while maintaining historically low unemployment.
The regulator has been consistently reducing the interest rate since June 2025, bringing it to 14.25% last month.
