Gold price rises up to 2-week high

July 22, Fineko/abc.az. Against the backdrop of technical buying demand and the worsening situation in the Middle East, the spot gold price rose by 0.9% up to $4,113.73 per ounce, reaching the maximum value since July 10.

August futures in the U.S. grew by 1.1% to $4,119.10. The price increase was driven by the rerouting of oil tankers in the Red Sea due to Houthi threats and a more than 1% spike in oil prices.

Investors are also looking forward to interest rate signals from the upcoming US Federal Reserve meeting next week.

In the market for other precious metals, silver rose up to $59.82 (1.8%), platinum up to $1,655.61 (1.6%), and palladium up to $1,302.25 (1.6%).
