June 20, Fineko/abc.az. In response to seasonal spikes in agricultural produce distribution, commercial cargo traffic along the Russia-Azerbaijan state border corridor has registered a substantial volume expansion.

According to data monitored by ABC.AZ from the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of Russia, the "Yarag-Kazmalyar" and "Tagirkent-Kazmalyar" multilateral automobile checkpoints are currently processing between 1,000 and 1,400 heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) every 24 hours. Since January, North Caucasian customs systems have cleared over 2.7 million tons of freight, marking a 14.5% shift upward year-on-year.

Core Structural and Logistical Vectors:

  • Green Channel for Perishables: Customs clearing dispatchers are prioritizing clearance processing for fast-perishing food supplies, focusing heavily on fresh fruits and vegetables arriving from Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkey, and Georgia.

  • 400-Truck Buffer Zone: To insulate border entry tracks from heavy logistical gridlocks, regional transit authorities have deployed a supplementary temporary customs control zone, scaling the capacity of the primary holding area up to 400 slots.

  • Reinforced Security Measures: The North Caucasian Customs Directorate alongside the FSB Border Directorate for the Republic of Dagestan have officially moved into an accelerated joint operational stance to maintain transit throughput and slash inspection wait times.
