May 4, Fineko/abc.az. There is a downward trend in the US dollar exchange rate in the Azerbaijani cash currency market.

ABC.AZ reports that among banks, the minimum cash dollar selling rate was fixed at Unibank, Turanbank and Rabitabank at the level of 1,7005 manats.

Since March 2017, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan has maintained fixed exchange rate at 1 US dollar = 1,7000 manats.

Earlier, the CBA announced procurement intervention in the foreign exchange market. According to the regulator, amid the current account surplus of the balance of payments and the ongoing de-dollarization, the supply of foreign currency exceeds demand. As a result, there was oversupply in both the cash and non-cash segments, which also contributed to growth of country's foreign exchange reserves.
