September 11, Fineko/abc.az. At the V Azerbaijan–Turkey Energy Forum held in Baku, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov stressed the strategic importance of the project to connect Nakhchivan to country's unified energy system through the Zangezur Corridor.

The construction of the Jabrayil–Aghbend high-voltage transmission line is nearing completion. A new energy connection to Nakhchivan and Turkey will be created through the Zangezur Corridor.

At the initial stage, it is planned to transfer 1 gigawatt of electricity to Turkey through Nakhchivan.

Discussions are currently ongoing on choosing the optimal connection model and financing the project.
