April 24, Fineko/abc.az. The conflict in Iran will deal a more significant blow to the Swedish economy than previously expected, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson as saying this at a press conference.
"In many ways, the world is chaotic and dangerous," he said. "We [in our impact assessments] have moved from a basic scenario of limited impact to a scenario of tangible impact on the Swedish economy."
The country's parliament has already approved a temporary measure proposed earlier by the government to reduce fuel taxes from May to mitigate the effects of the conflict in the Middle East and the resulting sharp rise in gas and oil prices. The Cabinet has not yet presented any other new measures.
The government now does not exclude the risk of higher inflation, slower growth, higher unemployment and higher interest rates.
