April 23, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan has good situation with access to financial services, ABC.AZ informs, quoting WB chief country economist Steve Loris Gui-Diby.

According to Gui-Diby, there is positive trend in this sphere: "Azerbaijan is gaining 87 points in the regulatory environment and is close to the leading positions, and there is also a good situation with access to these services (whether it is credit information or access to borrower data, etc.)."

The economist noted that Azerbaijan ranks in the Top 40% of countries in terms of the quality of business regulation (regulatory environment), and in terms of operational efficiency - in Top 60%: "Operational efficiency generally reflects the level of costs. However, if we look at the stages separately — from market entry to business bankruptcy — it is clear that we have potential for development in a number of areas: indicators in the field of market competition and bankruptcy are well below 50%, and Azerbaijan needs improvement here."
