European Commission Promises €38M in Aid to Armenia and Expanded Access to the EU Market

July 2, Fineko/abc.az. The European Commission has announced its intention to allocate €38 million in financial assistance to Armenia and to open the European market to 80% of Armenian goods.

This was stated by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, during a press conference in Yerevan.

According to her:

  • €18 million will be directed toward supporting Armenia's exports.

  • €20 million will be allocated to support communities in border regions.

Von der Leyen also stated that the European Commission is monitoring "economic pressure from Russia" and is responding to it with respect to partners who have chosen closer ties with the EU.
