April 6, Fineko/abc.az. Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the UAE and Kuwait have cut oil production amid the military confrontation in the Persian Gulf. The total drop in production reached 6.7 million b/d.
ABC.AZ informs that the countries reduced their overall production by a third, which led to decline in global supply by nearly 6%.
Saudi Arabia lowered production by 2-2.5 million b/d, Iraq by 2.9 million b/d, the UAE by 500,000-800,000 b/d, Kuwait by around 500,000 b/d. The head of Saudi Aramco, Amin Nasser, declined to comment on current production volumes on Tuesday. Bloomberg analysts note the most drastic reduction in relative terms in Iraq, while Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Kuwait lowered production by 20-25% compared to February.
