Turkic states gain weight in global trade: turnover reaches $326 bn

July 7, Fineko/abc.az. The Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms & Communications (CAERC), together with the Secretariat of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), has published the Turkic Economic Review for Q1 of 2026, which is published in 8 languages.

The document provides an analysis of the economic indicators of the OTS member states and observers.

Share in the Global Economy and Demographics:

• GDP and Population: The Turkic states, with combined GDP of $673.557 billion, made up 2.34% of the global economy. Region's total population reached 178.8 million people, equivalent to 2.8% of the global population.

• Trade Volume: In the 1st quarter, overall trade volume of the Turkic states reached $326.1 billion, making up approx. 3.73% of the global trade volume.

Economic growth rates by country:

• Kyrgyzstan: 10.1%

• Uzbekistan: 8.7%

• Turkmenistan: 8.5%

• Northern Cyprus (TRNC): 6.3%

• Kazakhstan: 3.0%

• Turkey (the organization's largest economy): 2.5%

• Hungary: 1.7%

• Azerbaijan: 0.3%
