Azerbaijani tourists’ costs abroad observed decline in 9 months

November 6, Fineko/abc.az. The expenses incurred by Azerbaijani citizens during tourist trips abroad decreased for Jan-Sept 2025 against the 2024 same term.

ABC.AZ reports, citing the State Statistics Committee, that in the first 9 months of 2025, citizens’ overall costs for tourism in foreign countries amounted to 1.607 billion manats (69.7 million manats or 4.2% less versus the 2024 same term).

And the number of tourists reached 1.1 million people (41,700 people, or 4% less, compared with 1.43 million people registered for Jan-Sept 2024).

Over Jan-Sept 2025, the number of Azerbaijani citizens visiting foreign countries dropped versus the 2024 same term. As a whole, 1.604 million people visited abroad for Jan-Sept 2025 (42,100 people or 2.6% less than 1.647 million people for Jan-Sept 2024).

Regarding the cost structure: 577.4 million manats were spent on transport, which is the same as last year. Living expenses fell from 396.9 million manats to 374.6 million manats - a drop by 22.3 million manats, or 5.6%. Food expenses decreased from 322.1 million manats to 314 million manats (a drop of 2.5%). Funds raised for cultural and leisure events lowered by 29%, from 6.9 million manats to 4.9 million manats. Expenses for the purchase of travel packages also reduced from 53.5 million manats to 47.2 million manats (a drop of 11.7%).
