20 Chinese enterprises want to invest in Azerbaijan

September 23, Fineko/abc.az. 20 enterprises from 12 provinces of China, mostly private companies, expressed their desire to invest in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ informs that President of the Chinese Association for External Development He Zhengwei made the relevant statement at the first Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF-2025) in Baku.

"Holding an investment forum in Azerbaijan is of particular importance today. It's a great platform for building relationships. Representatives came here not only from China, but also from Europe, in particular from Belgium. This is a really important measure to attract foreign investments," he said.

Zhengwei stressed the importance of Azerbaijan's attention to Chinese investments and listed three main nuances in this regard: "China's foreign investments have been among the three largest in the world for 13 years. Their share in the global volume in 2024 was 11.9%. This opens up significant potential for Azerbaijan. Secondly, declining domestic demand in China and overcrowded production are encouraging companies to look for new markets with higher demand. Azerbaijan fully meets these criteria. Thirdly, there is a change in the strategy of Chinese companies: if they used to focus on resource extraction, today they are investing in non-oil fields and production. And this coincides with Azerbaijan's priorities."

According to Zhengwei, the prospects for cooperation in three areas are particularly great: "These include transport and logistics – using the route from China to Europe through Kazakhstan and Baku, renewable energy sources – development of solar and wind projects in Azerbaijan, as well as intelligent manufacturing – introduction of smart technologies, including cars, buildings and control systems".

Zhengwei said that cooperation between China and Azerbaijan has great prospects, from logistics to innovative production.
