July 9, Fineko/abc.az. The U.S. Department of Justice has charged OmegaPro founder Michael Shannon Sims and promoter Juan Carlos Reynoso with fraud and embezzlement of more than $650 million.

ABC.AZ informs that starting from 2019, they have been attracting investors to a multi-layered crypto scheme, promising returns of up to 300%. The defendants misled investors by claiming the legality of the project and demonstrating a luxurious lifestyle. After the alleged hacking in 2023, investors' funds were "transferred" to another platform, but access to them was never restored. One of the co-founders, Andreas Sakac, was detained in Turkey on suspicion of fraud for $4 billion.
