April 21, Fineko/abc.az. Copper production in China has reached record levels, despite low smelting prices, ABC.AZ reports, referring to Bloomberg.
“Chinese copper smelteries increased production to a record high last month. They faced low profitability and the need to reduce production after their rapid growth outpaced global ore supplies, leading to lower refining prices to zero. This year, this blow has been mitigated by the continued rapid rise in gold prices and increased revenues from the sale of sulfuric acid to other industries,” the article says.
