April 15, Fineko/abc.az. Electricity production in Azerbaijan for Jan-Mar 2025 amounted to 7.17 billion kWh.

ABC.AZ was informed at the Ministry of Energy that in total, 6.318 billion kWh of electricity was generated at thermal power plants (TPPs) and 669.6 million kWh at hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) for the reported term. According to other sources, production totaled 183.9 million kWh, including 9.5 million kWh from wind farms and 112.5 million kWh from solar power plants. And the solid waste incinerator generated 61.9 million kWh of electricity.

Compared with Jan-Mar 2024, a rise in electricity generation from renewable energy sources was recorded by 243.9 million kWh. Electricity production in the current quarter reached 6.6 billion kWh on AzerEnerji (5.739 billion kWh on TPPs, 645.1 million kWh on HPPs), 91.2 million kWh on the State Energy Service of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (55.7 million kWh on TPPs, 21.7 million kWh on HPPs, 13.8 million kWh on SESs), 6.3 million kWh on Azerishig wind power plants, and 689.3 million kWh on independent power plants.

Electricity exports totaled 385.0 million kWh and imports - 35.7 million kWh.

This March, country’s electricity generating amounted to 2.2 billion kWh. Electricity exports during this period reached 85.6 million kWh, while imports - 16.1 million kWh.m
