November 28, Fineko/abc.az. The Turkish Investment Fund (TIF) intends to develop the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor).
ABC.AZ informs that according to TIF data, Fund’s president Bagdat Amreyev said this on November 27 during the ministerial meeting of the Friends of Sustainable Transport Group at the United Nations in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan.
The event was organized under the co-chairmanship of Turkmenistan and China.
"The meeting highlighted the importance of joint efforts and strategic partnerships to achieve the UN goals in the field of sustainable transport, as well as improving road safety through improved transport connectivity, the development of sustainable transport solutions and the introduction of innovative green technologies," the Fund said.
In his speech, Amreyev noted that transport and customs cooperation traditionally occupy a high place on the agenda of Turkic cooperation.
He recalled that the recent Bishkek summit of the heads of state of the Turkic countries emphasized the need to address existing challenges and strengthen cooperation in the field of transport and transit.
The TIF president stressed that the Fund, being the first joint financial institution of the Turkic states established to strengthen intra-state trade and investment, stimulate economic growth and promote innovative projects, pays special attention to the transport sector and special emphasis will be placed on supporting logistics and infrastructure, including development of the Middle Corridor.
He also noted that TIF can support other initiatives in the field of transport, such as development of Ro-Ro and Ro-Pax ferry services, increasing cargo capacity, as well as digitalization of the transport sector.
