Assets of Azerbaijan's banking sector declined in October

November 27, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Oct 2024, the assets of the Azerbaijani banking sector increased by 1.1% and reached 49.697 billion manats. At the beginning of the year, this figure was 49.178 billion manats. In October, the volume of assets dropped by 2.2%, ABC.AZ informs, referring to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

The total liabilities of the banking sector during this period amounted to 43.254 billion manats, and the balance sheet capital - 6.443 billion manats.

The loan portfolio continued to grow in October of this year. The loan portfolio of banks increased by 1.4% or 374.6 million manats for the reported month and reached 27.08 billion manats. 54% of the loan portfolio (14.628 billion manats) were business loans, 30.6% (8.277 billion manats) - consumer loans, and 15.4% - mortgage loans.
