Gold Drops Below $4,154 as Strong Dollar and High Yields Push Weekly Losses

October 2, Fineko/abc.az. Gold prices slid on Friday, heading for a second consecutive weekly loss pressured by a strengthening U.S. dollar and elevated Treasury yields. Spot gold fell 0.6% to $4,154.78 per ounce, marking a weekly decline of over 3%, while U.S. gold futures dropped 0.4% to $4,184.

Investors remain focused on the upcoming U.S. non-farm payrolls data for signals regarding the Federal Reserve's monetary policy path. Among other precious metals, spot silver dropped to $60.53 (-0.5%), platinum fell to $1,716.93 (-0.4%), while palladium edged up to $1,172.80 (+0.1%).
